The Arbutus Cloud upgrade is nearly complete. Administrators are handling the final steps, but no further API, Dashboard, or VM disruptions are expected.
Update March 26 2021 The incomplete configuration of the failed services, has been restored entirely and API access should now work again with no issues.
Due to an incomplete configuration of an internal cloud service, api access might be dysfunctional for some projects.
UPDATE March 23 04:15 PDT: The control plane portion of the upgrade procedure is complete, and dashboard and API services have been re-enabled for user access. The short network outages of individual compute nodes required to complete the compute node portion of the upgrade will proceed as planned between now and March 26; please see the original message below for more details.

Arbutus Cloud – Outage for Upgrade, March 23-26 2021


Summary


UPDATE: The upgrade process is now complete, and all cloud services are fully available. -- The Arbutus Cloud will undergo a maintenance window to upgrade the cloud infrastructure software. This upgrade will require a complete outage of the dashboard and API services from 11:00AM EDT on March 23rd, 2021 to 11:00AM EDT on March 24th, 2021. The upgrade will also require short network outages of less than 10 minutes for each Virtual Machine hosted in the Arbutus Cloud during the period from 11:00AM EDT on March 24th, 2021 to 11:00AM EDT on March 26th, 2021. While network connectivity may be interrupted, affected VMs are not expected to go down or reboot as a result of the upgrade. This outage will also be communicated on the Compute Canada Status site, https://status.computecanada.ca – please refer to that site to view any updates to this message or changes that may arise during the course of the maintenance work.
